Buzëqeshja e jetës falso / Smile of a false life

...Mllefi ndaj realitetit sa vjen e bëhet më i rëndë. Dikush këta të rinj do i konsiderojë veprat e tyre si diçka jo normale. Njëra nga këta të pakënaqur është dhe Zeni Ballazhi, i cili këqyrë punën e vet. Kohë më parë instalacioni i tij me pagëzimin “Missi”, një alegori rrënuese, më kishte shtyrë të ndalem shpesh para saj. Mesazhi i dhënë përmes një kafke kau me një kurorë mbretërore, në një sfond të zi në të bardhën e një muri, nuk do kurrfarë komenti; mjafton leximi i kontrasteve dhe pamja e trishtë e kafkës së kaut nën shkëlqimin e rremë të kurorës...

…Angriness toward reality becomes heavier from the rebellion. Someone would consider the works of these young artists as something not normal. Among these unsatisfied artists is Zeni Ballazhi, which flounders by working in a creative loneliness. From some time ago his installation called “Miss”, devastatingly allegorical, makes me stop often in front of it. The message given through an ox skull with a queen crown in a black background on a white wall does not need any comment; it is enough to read the contrasts and the gloomy image of the ox skull under the false glittering of the crown…

“Information” is an installation focusing in everyday information and its impact in to the people. Agglomeration of recording tapes from radio-TV news, and applying them, woven in a curtain, represent another way of communication between the man and information.

By discovering small fragments from the past everything is made questionable. Art emphasizes the change, the work through the changing times. In this environment industrial and natural energy is used as well: the move of an object, the change, the light, destruction etc. In this moment build and produce material assemblage to create a liaison between the art object and the non-art object

At Albanians in Balkan a usual day as the other days,
but every unusual thing at Balkan in Europe:

  1. war hither and thither
  2. so many people were killed
  3. so many people were stabbed
  4. so many children were born
  5. HE left the power
  6. another ONE entered
  7. an exhibition was opened
  8. grows the number of unemployment
  9. accident in such-and-such mileage
  10. corruption hither and yon
  11. contraband hither and thither
  12. the president here
  13. the prime minister there etc, etc …

Then, as if nothing has happened, we run and leave traces; someone here someone there, smoking cigarettes, wonder, ask each other, amazing, how, were, why, are, aren’t, many people … because people live and die …

Psikologjia “Frigorifer” video/instalacion, figurohet si koncept i izolimit, i cili në kompleksin e tij përfshin një aspekt komunikimi shpeshherë shtrëngues, një si komunikim social ballkanik në raport me qytetërimin evropian.Video/instalacioni titullohet Biodiversiteti dhe në të trajtohet çështja e dhunës dhe fillimi i krimeve nga një shoqëri jo normale. Është vënë në dukje Etologjia dhe është për t’u theksuar edhe faktori racist. Njeri-kafshë.

Video/installation “Refrigerator”, is figured as a concept of isolation which includes the aspect of communication that often behaves clutching and as a Balkan social communication with the European civilization.
Video/installation is entitled “Biodiversity and it approaches the issue of violence and the beginning of crimes in an abnormal society.  Ethology is emphasized and also the racism factor. Man – animal.

Instalacioni “Bunker”, është një gjetje dhe konceptim artistik që transmeton mesazhin si komunikim aktual.
Është një element i zgjedhur nga diktatura në interpretim konceptual të formës.
Rrotat që lëvizin “bunkerin” janë përmbajtja e krejt konceptit.
Paraqitet në një periudhë kur mentaliteti politik ballkanik ka njohur dhe ka vënë në përdorim hapësira demokratike.
Bunkeri me lëvizjen e rrotave përbën një imazh kompleks të realitetit të mjerë ballkanik ku dëshmon për një aspekt, duke shpresuar për transformime të qytetëruara të politikës ballkanike në raport me qytetërimin perëndimor.
Dëshira për të marrë pjesë për qytetërimin e Ballkanit.

Labyrinths

Bioregion, localism and place as a triad for cooperating and establishing an artistic practice which many times is a communication through arts.

Bioregion – is understood as a geographical zone defined by different physical factors like: land, water, biotical and climatic system joint with live organizations of region or place.
Localism – traditionally is defined by geographical territories and topological characteristics of one place.

Place – is conceived as a union within physical, spiritual, historical and social diversity of a certain geographical region.
It’s although the idea of “labyrinth” with all its referable and poetical contexts.

In this environment the promenade through life is possible, it’s physical, but later it becomes invisible. Time passes by, traces remain.
In this environment the relations of spatial time appear through materials of everyday life. Labyrinth is a life metaphor,  a long road paved with one drapery in a form of labyrinth which appears  through ruined walls of Svaneti hills and the ice river which through stones creates  an endless labyrinth which remains one historical memory of the past. The presence of the ruined walls was necessary to create a labyrinth as much as it is the role of of the space in creation of the labyrinth itself. When the old walls reflect the history, past time, the plinth (basement) of a composition is fed with its time borders. In this concept the relationship between the labyrinth and ruined walls sounds pretty organic.

The action happen in a defined space and time where the result is consist from the collective experience and where the signs that remains: photos, videos are the documents of a lived time. Here primitivism does not appear. It comes to your mind that this is a possible option.

By discovering some small fragments from the past I question everything. The art of land underlines the change, the work with with the timechanges. In this environment the industrial and natural energies are used: the movement of the project, change, light, destination, etc…
In this moment I built (open) a road through ice which melt (merge) and creates a water labirynth water goes through stones and continues in infinity.
Systematization of the land, water and stones shows the big support of the industry and exploration for the materials from the natural environment.
The physical and cultural environment influence our behaviour to see and understand who we are in relation with the place we live in.
All this history belongs to the human system.
